National Grid Visual Impact Provision Project

Hale Purlieu in the northern New Forest is one of four sites nationally being taken forward for feasibility assessment for ameliorating the visual impact of overhead power lines.  The proposal is to reroute the 400kV lines underground in the area where the visual impact of pylons is deemed to be worst.  More details on the project can be found HERE.  Of particular interest is the Options Appraisal Study.  An Environmental Impact Assessment is to be undertaken regardless of whether there is a statutory requirement to complete one.

RSPB New Forest Local Group will be invited onto the Community Liaison Group and we would therefore be interested to hear from those who know the area well more about the birds and wildlife of that area of the forest.  You can comment either by reply to this post or by using the Contact Us form.
